Alternative Illinois Wedding Photographer – Engagement Session, Wilmington, Illinois
I love engagement photos. i hate that they are generally considered a photo session to use for wedding invites.
That’s not why you take engagement photos.
Your engagement session is specifically used to document this season of your life—who you are as a couple—right now—authentically. In outfits you’d normally wear. Doing activities you’d normally do together. In a place you love. Because we’re documenting this season of your love story and your life together. So we can look back in 20 years and say, that was us—not a “version” of us we created for friends and family for our wedding invites.
I encourage you to dig deep through every part of this wedding planning process. Feel out what makes sense for you as a couple. Don’t do what’s expected of you just because it’s expected of you. It’s your love story—how it starts in this new season of life is up to you.
Monica & Brett have been together for 9 years, and decided to celebrate their engagement in a way that was true to them–vinyl records, pop punk jams, marijuana and a unity joint, in a park in small town, Illinois that was special to them.
If you’re looking for an experience that’s a little more pop punk and a little less pinterest, let’s fucking do this thing.
