The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Colorado. It’s unique for a lot of reasons, but as far as landscape goes, there’s no where else like it in the entire state. Located in the heart of Denver, this area offers multiple venues and quick access to the mountains if wanted offsite views, too. In this guide, we’ll dive into the different venues available for your Denver Botanic Gardens wedding, including their pricing, capacities, and unique features to help you plan, as well as some of my favorite vendor recommendations and lodging options (including getting ready spaces for your rentals).
Additionally, because I specialize in this location, I also offer hourly wedding photography packages for your Denver Botanic Gardens wedding for elopements, micro weddings, or larger wedding events, with options to fit every need. As a nontraditional wedding photographer, we don’t put people in boxes around here, so you can plan the day you actually want.
There’s a few different options when it comes to Denver Botanic Garden weddings, and they suit different guest counts and needs (some of these spaces are ceremony only, while others can serve as reception venues, too). For the areas that don’t include reception options, I’ve listed my favorite Denver reception venues below (and honestly, this would be my best recommendation to you, as picking an offsite reception hall allows a lot more control for your event).
Also, huge disclaimer as I do not work for the gardens, this information can be ever-changing, so it’s best to reach out to them directly for pricing and capacity information, but this guide is a great start to narrow down options that might be the best fit for you.
Woodland Mosaic & Solarium (ceremony + reception)
Romantic Garden (ceremony only)
West Terrace (ceremony + reception)
Water Garden Gazebo (ceremony + reception)
Annual Gardens (ceremony + reception)
All-America Selections Garden
Ullman Terrace
Mitchell Hall
You can also click through photos for each individual site via their website here!
The pricing varies depending on half day, or full day rentals, but many of these sites offer a smaller hourly rental to accomodate for smaller weddings or elopements. You’ll want to reach out to them directly to ask about your event and specific pricing options.
Denver Botanic Gardens is a year-round venue with each season offering a unique charm. Spring and summer are particularly popular due to the vibrant blooms, while fall weddings can enjoy stunning foliage, while winter weddings are also possible in indoor venues like Mitchell Hall, providing a cozy yet elegant environment. Keep in mind that different blooms are here at different times, so if you’re going for a specific look, you’ll want to check with the gardens, and make sure to stay out of transitional periods where parts of the garden are removed.
To secure your date, it’s recommended to book at least 12 months in advance, as dates tend to get booked over a year in advance, especially during peak wedding season (May-October). A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
You can find a full list of my favorite Denver wedding and reception venues here. I have a full guide of my favorite non-traditional spots. My favorites to pair with the Denver Botanic Gardens wedding with a larger guest count, are Skylight, Moss, and Blanc!
Lodging + Getting Ready Spaces
Depending on your hourly rental at the gardens, you may need an offsite space to get ready in, or if you’re coming from out of town, you can use these spaces as lodging as well. Keep in mind, your getting ready space sets the initial vibe for your getting ready photos and portraits, and can be a fun opportunity to add to your experience here in Colorado. Here’s a few of my favorite airbnbs and lodging spaces nearby:
This rad converted church
This cool hobbit dome in Centennial
This Chalet in Golden
This Indian Hills Mansion
This artsy Denver apartment, perfect for 2
This Denver loft
