When Philip and Danya first reached out to me about their engagement session, they were firm on wanting nature-inspired images, because their wedding day would be more city-feeling. Their wedding at Ginger & Baker in Fort Collins later ended up being such a fun, organic urban vibe, but for their Breckenridge engagement photos, they wanted something completely different. They envisioned a session that felt more like an intimate elopement: romantic, adventurous, and deeply connected to the outdoors.

Breckenridge was the perfect location for this. Nestled into my favorite area of the mountains (Summit County!!!), it offers stunning alpine scenery, peaceful forests, and picturesque lakes. We chose a hidden gem right in the middle of town that required a short hike to reach. This secluded spot gave us a mix of breathtaking mountain views, wildflower meadows, and even an alpine lake, making for an incredibly diverse backdrop and a ton of fun landscapes to play with.

My engagement sessions aren’t your typical “stand and smile” photoshoots. Instead, I call them “storytelling sessions” because they’re designed to document your real experience, where couples can fully immerse themselves in the moment while I document your connection in a natural and artistic way. Philip and Danya completely embraced this approach. We spent about two hours exploring the area, wandering through the forest, strolling along the lakeside, and soaking in the magic of Breckenridge.

This Breckenridge engagement session quickly became one of my favorites. Philip and Danya trusted me wholeheartedly, allowing us to create and truly get weird together (in the best way). The result? A collection of photos that captured not only the breathtaking scenery of Breckenridge but also their connection to each other and the landscape.
