When Holly and Jonny asked if we could do their engagement session at Mother Muff’s—their go-to dive bar in Colorado Springs—I immediately said yes. Not just because I love a good offbeat location (although I do), but because this place meant something to them. It’s where they’ve shared tons of moments both together and with friends, and spent most of their time in college! That’s exactly the kind of meaning I want baked into the photos we time capsule together (because chaos over perfection, remember?)
We did a little more for their Colorado engagement photos than just smile in a field somewhere. The place has this gritty, lived-in energy: dim lighting, walls layered with texture, these steam-punk like fans over the bar, and a vibe that just doesn’t try too hard. And we had too much fun using every corner of it.
If you’re dreaming up Colorado engagement photos that actually reflect you, and your favorite places, your weird little love story, your edge, I’m ready to get weird with ya. You don’t need the mountains to make it stand out (though hey, I love those too). You just need a spot that feels like yours, and the willingness to let me really see you.
