Melia and Josh were a little back and forth on how they wanted to get married – with guests? In the mountains? The whole shibang? Should we just elope? Let’s plan something for October. Nope, we want to be married, now. Ultimately, they decided they didn’t want to wait another second to be together and married, and decided on a Denver Courthouse Wedding on a cloudy, overcast day in April.
We started their day at their apartment; an old, converted bank building in downtown Denver. They got ready together (and with their kitties!), and we hopped on a bus to take us downtown to the courthouse. They signed at the courthouse itself, and then we headed to one of our premier column buildings downtown (Denver actually has a few of these to choose from!), to say their vows on the steps in front of golden doors. If you want to see their full gallery, you can take a peek here.
We also ran into a caricature artist, and they got a portrait done! We took the rest of their portraits downtown in front of the courthouse and then headed downtown to celebrate and grabbed ice cream at Little Man (one of their favorites!!!).
As far as Denver courthouse weddings go, Melia & Josh did it the right way–fun, spontaneous, and and free from any stress or opinions from anyone else. It was a fucking honor to be their photographer on their day, and this is hands down a favorite Denver courthouse wedding of all time for me.
