When Kelly reached out to me to photograph her little fam, I couldn’t have been more honored. She’s a local elopement photographer too (her and Alex actually work together, and they’re amazing), and a dear friend of mine, and I just felt so overwhelmingly excited when she asked me to capture them — really? Me? OUT OF EVERYONE? Kelly and Alex took me to one of their favorite spots in western Colorado (they had just moved to the Grand Junction area!), and they wanted to capture this new chapter of their life together, with heavy emphasis on their two fur pups (the cutest ever!!!), and we spent their Grand Junction couple’s session adventuring around together while watching the sunset.

Since they’re friends of mine, you can only imagine the pressure, and I wanted to make sure that their Grand Junction couple’s session was everything they wanted it to be, and more, and hopefully capture the essence of their life in this new chapter! Also at this time, one of their pups was going through some heavy surgery and having some health problems, so we really wanted to capture their relationship and all of them just genuinely enjoying their time together as a family. We watched some wild horses come into the valley, danced in the sunlight, had tons of doggie snuggles, and ultimately I spent their couple’s session watching them interact, have fun together, and really be themselves, just having fun in nature!
